Unit 1: Crafting Meaning Through Storytelling
Warm-Up:
10 Minutes of independent reading
Update Reading Log:
* Entries are complete; no missing information
* Everything spelled and capitalized correctly
* Kept up-to-date
* Accurate genre (not just “fiction”)
Mini-Lesson:
Today we will learn the classroom procedure for turning in late or revised assignments.
Focus Lesson:
Then, we will make a vocabulary foldable to be used to help reinforce the learning of new words and concepts used in language arts.
Class Work:
Last day for class time to work on your essay. It's due today!
Homework:
Plan to attend one or two study sessions this week if you are not finished with your essay. Remember, you cannot work on it at home because it's an assessment.
OMG Fact:
It takes about three apples to make one glass of apple cider.

Study Sessions: Tuesdays and Thursdays before school (7:45 am) with a pass.

We will begin reading The Outsiders and The Giver next Monday (9/26).
