Warm-Up:

Mini-Lesson:
Today we will compare and contrast a written story to the filmed version by analyzing the effects of each medium so that we can learn to think flexibly, think about our thinking (metacognition), and apply past knowledge to new situations in order to draw our own conclusions about the world around us. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.7.7
Class Work:
We’ll know we have it when we’ve watched the movie The Outsiders or The Giver and completed the compare/contrast graphic organizer showing the benefits and drawbacks that each medium presents.
Homework:
Reading Response: Sis! Boom! Bah! Humbug!
